Students from Southwold and Reydon Primary and Saint Felix Prep schools perform in three ‘Snappy Operas’, ten-minute long pieces which introduce all the essential elements of opera in a fun, colourful, bite-sized chunk.
The Snappy Operas project was devised by Mahogany Opera, a visionary opera company based in London. Ten of these pieces have been commissioned from some of the UK’s most exciting composers and librettists and to date they have been performed by 1770 primary school children in 177 performances across the UK!
Come and support our local children as they take on the roles of machines, bakers, tourists, birds, mice and sausages – and bring all the family!
The Snappy Operas in this performance will be:
PECK! - by Stephen Deazley and Matthew Harvey
The Machine Dream - by Nathan Williamson and Zanib Mian
The Feast That Went Off With a Bang - by Ed Hughes and Peter Cant
This event is been made possible by the generous support of the Southwold Music Trust, The Music Sales Charitable Trust and the Adnams Community Trust.
