The Southwold Arts Festival will be launched with a colourful street event. Expect an explosion of colour, singing and music. The High Street will be closed to traffic to allow choirs, bands & street entertainers to take over the town centre. A vintage market and delicious food stalls will line the High Street.
The theme for the day is Yesterday and festivities will start with a parade from the police station to the Market Place for the opening of the Festival. Choose your favourite era, dress up as any character from the past and join the fun – you may win a prize for the best costume!
The parade is open to all and leaves 11.45 at the police station led by the Suffolk School of Samba who will get the party started with their infectious music and dance.
