The Street Festival launches the fourth Southwold Arts Festival. We hope that you will enjoy the choirs, bands, circus performers, musicians, and buskers as well as the many stalls which fill the High Street. The event has been sponsored by My Southwold who promote and support the independent businesses which help to make our High Street so special.

11.45 Take Flight Parade

Put on your wings and join our flight themed parade. Flying machines, birds, butterflies, bugs, bees and superheroes are all welcome. Prizes will be awarded for the best ones (judging will be on South Green at 12.30). The Suffolk School of Samba will lead the parade from the Police Station and get the party started with their loud, infectious music and dance

12.15 2017 Festival Opening Ceremony

Festival Patron Emma Freud OBE will officially open the fourth Southwold Arts Festival from the stage in the Market Place. Our compere for the afternoon is Christine Webb

12.30 Sole Bay Singers

Back by popular demand is this popular local community choir are conducted by Sian Mortlock

1.15 The Yukes of Southwold

Making their Arts Festival debut we are delighted to welcome Southwold’s own Ukulele band

1.45 The Lowestoft Longshoremen

The most Easterly shanty group in Britain. This motley crew will perform sea shanties and traditional songs

2.30 St Felix Prep School Choir

Conducted by Luke Allen

3.00 Bojangles Dancers

This local children’s dance group will perform three dances, two of which have previously been performed at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End

3.30 Pretty Grim Border Morris

This Welsh Border Morris are an energetic and fun side who enjoy a good reputation for their dancing and for entertaining a crowd, whilst not taking themselves too seriously!

4.00 Suffolk School Of Samba

Back to perform in the Market Place with audience participation encouraged.

4.30 Daisy Armstrong

We are delighted that raising star Daisy has agreed to perform a selection of her favourite songs.

4.45 Festival Finale


United Reformed Church

3.00 Wrentham Town Band This popular brass band have been delighting local audiences since 1919. We are delighted to welcome them back. In the event of rain the band will perform inside the church.


South Green
